About Us, Coaches, Logo's

 

Colorado Sun Track Club(CSTC) is an USATF / AAU  accredited  member serving Northern Jefferson County and Central Adams County in Denver Colorado. CSTC is also a member of the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association. The club is open to boys and girls aged 8-18(USATF/AAU) 5-16 (CARA), with the purpose of training and motivating young athletes by developing physical fitness and self confidence. CSTC competes in USA Track & Field, AAU, and CARA sanctioned meets as well local events sponsored by various organizations. We compete at the State, Regional, and National level throughout the fall cross country, indoor track, and summer track seasons.  CSTC teaches and works on all Track and Field events.

Athletes will compete in the following age groups in USATF sanctioned events:

Coaches

Rod Marquez - Head Coach

Coach Marquez has been involved in running and coaching for over 27 years.  He has been a competitive runner at every level of the sport. A Hersheys qualifier as a youth,  An all state athlete in high school, a four year letterman and all-academic athlete while in college, and now a master division runner. 

Coach Marquez has won four state championships and twenty-five regional championships in Track and Cross Country as a high school coach in the State of Utah.  He has coached dozens of individual state champions and has helped many of his runners attain Division I college scholarships. Coach Marquez coordinates a high altitude summer running camp in Estes Park, Colorado for individuals and high school teams.

Coach Marquez has been involved in the USATF/AAU and CARA running scene for many years and is a major advocate for youth fitness and running in the State of Colorado.
